Boat Moja Maja

Why a Wooden Boat is Special

Our boat is not just a vessel—it’s a story, a tradition, and a piece of craftsmanship that connects the past with the present. Built entirely from Slavonian oak, one of Europe’s finest and most durable hardwoods, it represents the enduring legacy of traditional boatbuilding.

Craftsmanship and Heritage

This boat is one of the few modern creations built in the traditional way, entirely by hand. It was lovingly constructed by the captain's father, a skilled craftsman who poured his heart, soul, and decades of experience into every plank and joint. His dedication has created a vessel that’s not only seaworthy but also a true work of art.

Sustainability and Natural Materials

Unlike modern metal boats, a wooden boat breathes and lives in harmony with the sea. Slavonian oak, known for its strength and natural beauty, was carefully chosen to ensure both durability and sustainability. By preserving traditional methods, this boat embodies a respect for nature and history.

An Authentic Experience

While the boat is not a luxury yacht, it offers something far more meaningful: a chance to experience the Adriatic as it has been sailed for centuries. The warmth of the wood, the subtle creak of the timbers, and the unique character of a handcrafted vessel create a connection to the sea that modern boats simply can’t replicate.

A Labour of Love

This is no factory-made vessel—it’s a labor of love, built from the ground up by one man with a vision. That personal touch can be felt in every detail, from the boat's elegant lines to its welcoming atmosphere. Sailing on this boat is not just a journey across the Adriatic; it’s a journey into a rich tradition of craftsmanship and passion.
